One of two designers on Intuit's internal tools for Tax Developers and Analysts, with sole ownership of Fuego Spark. Improved core UX flows, evolved the visual design system, and led new feature design end-to-end. Self validated decisions through continuous user research including interviews, surveys, usability testing, persona development, and journey mapping.
UX Design
To prioritize the roadmap, I mapped user reported pain points against two axes: daily time saved for users versus design and development effort required. This made it possible to identify which improvements would deliver the highest impact for the least investment, and sequence the work accordingly.

To build a clear picture of who I was designing for, I developed persona cards capturing each user type's background, responsibilities, and points of friction. I paired this with direct user interviews to surface unmet needs and feature gaps straight from the people using the tools every day.

To address visual inconsistencies across the tool suite, I created a style guide to serve as a shared source of truth. It covered typography, color, common UI components, and the node design patterns specific to the tools.

The updated visual system brought consistency across tools that had previously felt disconnected, and the new features addressed pain points identified directly through user research. While I no longer have access to formal metrics from this engagement, user feedback during testing was consistently extremely positive and the improvements were adopted across the broader tool suite.
